The South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association provides its members with:

  • Quarterly newsletters containing important industry information that affects you and your business

The SDVMA hosts three meetings each year that provide an environment for valuable networking with industry leaders, product vendors, and peers. These meetings also provide continued education sessions on a number of relevant and timely topics.

As an SDVMA member you are part of a well-recognized and highly respected group of veterinarians in South Dakota.


SDVMA Membership Types

Standard Membership

The annual cost for a standard membership is $150. Our standard members receive all benefits of membership and are eligible to hold elected positions within the association and vote.

New Practitioner Membership

SDVMA provides one free year of membership for all newly licensed veterinarians who are practicing in South Dakota. New practitioner members may participate in association activities and serve on the committees but may not hold elective office or serve as a member of the executive board.

Life Member

A life member is one who has reached the age of 65 and has been an active member with SDVMA for 20 years. Life members are approved by the executive board and shall be exempt from paying dues. Life members receive all benefits of membership and are eligible to vote and hold elected positions within the association.

SDVMA Alliance

The South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association Alliance (Alliance) is open to spouses, family members and/or friends of members in good standing with the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association.

The mission of the Alliance is to advance the science and art of veterinary medicine, including its relationship to public health and agriculture, strengthen the bonds of friendship of those connected with the veterinary profession and promote the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association through public relations activities, scholarships and support of the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association Foundation.

The Alliance’s regular meeting is held in conjunction with the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association’s annual meeting or at such times as be necessary.
