Animal Health Center is seeking to hire a full-time associate veterinarian with the potential for future ownership buy-in. Our mixed animal practice consists of 75% cow/calf/backgrounding feedlot and 25% small animal. Our practice (established in 1982) consists of two locations, Faulkton and Redfield which are cow/calf and farming communities located in north central SD. The area provides two thriving communities with excellent education systems and new schools, health care facilities, many successful small businesses, and is agricultural related. The area also provides ample recreational activities such as hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, bowling, movie theaters, and restaurants. We currently have 3 veterinarians (associate leaving in May), and 6 support staff members. We are a family-oriented (2nd generation) business that emphasizes preventive medicine, herd health and nutrition, and open communication with our clientele. We provide routine small animal medical care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and emergency services. Our practice is equipped with portable hydraulic chutes, hydraulic tip chutes, haul in facilities, portable corrals, ultrasound, equine stocks, CR X-ray, ultrasonic dental, gas anesthesia, and serum chemistry. We are interested in either a new graduate or an experienced veterinarian that is motivated, hardworking, well rounded, has excellent communication skills and is competent in practicing high quality progressive mixed animal medicine. Interests in other fields are also welcomed as there are additional opportunities for growth in areas beyond our already growing cattle and small animal business. After/hour emergency calls will be split among veterinarians.
